Be My Neighbor Day

I'll catch up on other happenings but here's what we were up to today...Be My Neighbor Day with Daniel Tiger. I found out about it about a month ago and grabbed our (free) tickets. I kept it a surprise from Emery in case something came up and we couldn't make it--there's nothing worse than disappointing a 2 year old. So, I told her this morning that we were going on an adventure and we packed the backpack and headed out. It was in downtown Phoenix so it took us about an hour to get there...and another 20 minutes or so to find parking. When I saw all the school buses, I knew we were in trouble and it was packed but after about an hour the school kids cleared out and it was a little better. When I told her what the surprise was she looked around for Daniel Tiger. We walked in and got our "Passports" and then proceeded to get the 6 stamps that we needed to go see Daniel Tiger. Along the way we picked up Emery's very own Home Depot apron, colored, painted, made an egg shaker, got a toothbrush, painted some more, and 'rode' on trolley. Emery loved riding on trolley 'just wike Daniel Tiger!' Then we proceeded to make our way to the line to meet the main man. It was about an hour long and 100 degrees but we had fun while we waited. Curious George came by along the way so that helped the cause. Then my mom met up with us and took us to lunch. Emery is now crashed upstairs and I imagine she'll sleep well tonight too.

Walking out of the parking garage on our adventure.

Riding on Trolley

So excited!! I think she actually liked this better than seeing the 'real' Daniel Tiger.

Curious George said hello to all waiting in line.

Katerina and Prince Wednesday...hanging out while waiting for the main attraction.

Miss Elaina

They gave all the kids these Daniel Tiger 'cone' things. Emery and this little boy had fun yelling in them while waiting in line.

Hugging Miss Elaina

Once we got up there she didn't want to sit next to Daniel Tiger by herself so we both got to meet him.
Eating her post-adventure lunch with grandma...hot dog and french fries.

February Happenings

February was a fun and busy month around here. I've come to realize that everyday life is just more fun with a 2 year old running around. Sunday nights are no longer filled with...I can't even remember what Sunday nights used to be like...and now they're filled with family dance parties and dressing up. Craziness has become the norm and we wouldn't have it any other way!

One of the many impromptu dance parties we have at our house. She also enjoys sitting on Dad's head.

Baby's turn to sit on Emery's head!

Dad and Emery dancing the night away

She's wearing her 'dancing skirt.'
Valentines' Day was low-key but fun. Here she is eating the candy that grandma gave her to celebrate.

She really likes taking pictures of herself so she looks in the lens and then pushes the button--all assisted--so we get a lot of these pictures.

Emery loves to paint. She also loves Minnie Mouse so painting a picture of Minnie Mouse is about the best thing life has to offer.

We do Emery's hair most days. This day I thought her ponytail and bow just looked too cute so I took a picture. She refused to be distracted from Daniel Tiger so the pictures reflect her joy at me taking pictures of her during her show.

My little helper at it again...this time it's vacuuming.
We're still working on going to nursery on her own but this way the first day that she went and stayed without mom or dad there so we took pictures to celebrate.

Just a tumbleweed outside our front door...no big thing.

Jefferson made these valences for all of our downstairs windows. It has made a HUGE difference and I love them. Let it be known that the valence on the left is not uneven like it appears in the picture.

Silly girl!

Emery still sleeps in her crib but sometimes we take naps in the 'Book Room.' It's so cool and quiet in there. She always looks so big sleeping in a real bed.

Football Storytime at the Library. Emery really loves football so she was in heaven with the football theme.

She got sick with a bug again in February but, luckily, this one passed quickly and she was able to sleep it off.

Loving it when Dad comes home. These two are serious buddies. She has to say goodbye to him in the morning and yells things like "Wuv you!" and "Drive safe!" as he's driving away.

Emery and her cow hat. We think it is hilarious every time she puts it on. She loves it.

January Happenings

Here's what we were up to in January...

Selfie with her baby. She loves being Mama.

Watching the rain in footie pajamas. Can life get any better?

Riding her dog.

Eating snacks while waiting for story time at the Library in her Mickey and Minnie shirt from Aunt Hayley.

Who knows where we were going but I love this picture. It's the epitome of what I see in the rearview.

This is the first time she rode in the car with her carseat facing forward. At first she wasn't sure but then she loved it.

Watching the rain on the back patio. January brought a lot of these moments. Emery loves the rain.

Playing on her slide and swing set from Grandma and Grandpa. She loves it and it has been a lifesaver. We're out there every day.

Falling asleep on her Minnie couch with her Minnie slippers and Minnie Mouse.

Hanging out with Mama
Emery wasn't feeling well in January. She had a fever, horribly runny nose, and tummy issues. After a few days of sleeping on the couch all day and not getting any better I took her to the doctor. Thank goodness for a great pediatrician. She had a double ear infection and severe cold/flu. I felt so bad for her. She was miserable but after a couple days of antibiotics she was back to her normal self. On the way home from the doctor I stopped and got her chicken nuggets and french fries. She ate a few before falling asleep. I do love the extra snuggles but hate everything else about her being sick.
She looks so miserable.
I've said it before but Emery is the biggest little helper. She is always helping with the dishes, vacuuming, cleaning up, dusting, etc. This day, she was helping me mop.
