Visitors

We are so lucky to live so close to our entire family. They all came down to visit us and bring Jefferson (and myself) food from the outside world. We even had a day where Ryan brought Jeff lunch from Culver's and Stephanie brought him a shake from that very same place. We were also treated to Filabertos, Dairy Queen, and Taco Bell. My brothers and dad also brought him some much needed Advil after some long days and longer nights.

Jefferson with his parents right after Emery was born. Both sets of parents were there all day with us and were so excited to meet Emery!

Both of our moms were a huge help at the hospital and once we got home yet we need pictures of them with Emery still so stay tuned...

Life at the Hospital

We were so lucky to be able to deliver at a hospital that is top-notch with a level 1 NICU and the best of the best when it comes to doctors. I also loved the practice that I finished the pregnancy with. Too bad our hospital room wasn't a little bigger with at least a couch for poor Jefferson to sleep in. Luckily there had been a lot of babies delivered when Emery was so our first night we got to stay in a labor and delivery room which was way bigger and they brought a cot in for Jeff. The next morning, though, it was upstairs to postpartum and the recliner that became Jeff's bed for the next 4 days. By Friday we were more than ready to go home and instantly felt better as soon as we walked back through the door.

Her "pirate eye." She liked the bigger room better too! Her cute hat was made by someone who knitted a bunch and donated them to the nursery. We think it is so cute!

Since I wasn't moving around a whole lot during our time at the hospital, little Emery got a lot of daddy time. I'll admit, I was a little jealous. :)

Jefferson changed every diaper at the hospital and most after we got home.
We got hardly any cell phone reception so we loved the hospital phone.

Here's the room. Yes, Jeff is standing at the door and no it isn't zoomed in. Side note, the food was actually pretty good. If you ever deliver at a Banner hospital, order as many chocolate chip cookies and macaroni and cheese as they will allow.

Jefferson's bed for a long 4 days and 3 nights.

Heading home!

Getting ready to go home! She did not like having to put on real clothes instead of the hospital shirt.

Jeff driving home. It's a miracle that we didn't hit any traffic.

She slept the whole 40 minute drive home.

A surprise for Emery from her sweet cousins.

My sweet mom was there waiting for us when we got home and stayed throughout the entire weekend cooking meals, cleaning, and even taking Emery at night so that we could get some sleep. More updates to come...
