Happy Birthday!

Today is Jefferson's birthday! He's now 26. He has to work today but will hopefully get home in just a little bit so that we can PARTY!! I would fill you all in on what is going down but that would just ruin the surprises for him in case he reads this before it all unfolds. I did say that I wouldn't throw him a surprise party so that is not one of the surprises.

Happy Birthday Jeff! I love you!

Locked Out

So I am sitting here at the library because I locked myself out of my house. The bottom door knob on the front door is always "unlocked" on the inside even if it is locked on the outside. Therefore when I walked outside to get the mail, the wind blew the door shut behind me and I was locked out. Called the landlord who didn't answer so I proceeded to walk the two blocks to the library and left a message for Jeff to come pick me up at the library on his way home.

Lessons Learned:
-Leave your house before 2 o'clock in the afternoon so that you unlock the bottom door know when you get home, thus avoiding this situation.

-Although you may have been rearranging and cleaning all day, never go outside wearing something that you wouldn't want all of your town to see. I am wearing jeans with holes and paint on them (Mom was right and I should have thrown them away years ago to save myself from this day).

-Listen to your husband when he tells you to wear a jacket. It snowed last night so even though that melted it is freezing, I didn't put on a jacket to walk to the end of my building. Therefore, I was wearing jeans with holes and paint on them and no jacket. I'm surprised the police in the car at the stop light didn't ask me some questions.

At least it's Spanish Fork so while I may never live this down with Jeff at least I know that no one in the library cares.

Sweet Sixteen

Today is my baby sister's birthday and she is 16! Not only does she own a fabric-topped Buick that she will use to drive herself to hair school but she is my best friend. Whether it's making my dad count to 3 whenever he takes a picture of us so that he has no decent photos to show of his daughters while at work conferences or late night escapades involving get punched in the face by our kitten, I don't know what I would do without this girl. Who else can you Skype with while you are facebook stalking and they are playing solitaire and have neither of you get offended?

Happy Birthday Hayley! I love you bug!

We Love to Eat

While looking through pictures on my camera last night I realized that the majority of the pictures we have taken in the last couple of months have involved some sort of food. Since I am stuck on campus with very little homework to do I, by default and out of boredom, got hungry so I thought I would share with you some of the delicious things we have been eating.

This first one was actually from my friend Camrie's wedding. They had a waffle dessert bar and it was delicious. As a bridesmaid I felt like it was my duty to sample every kind of combination available.

We also made the best sandwich I have ever eaten and am currently craving. Yes, we ate this sandwich while watching Biggest Loser and yes, we know that it goes against everything we should have learned from watching this show.

This last Friday we threw our good friend Anne a baby shower. We have thrown many parties in our lifetime as there have been many birthdays, weddings, and now a baby. Here was the food:

And here is a picture of the girls who will all be done with school at some point in the next year! Crazy how fast time has gone since it seems like we were just going to our first dance party (Rock the Block and don't even try to pretend that you don't remember).

Sadly, the picture of the awesome chocolate pie that Jeff made is on the other memory card so I will have to show you that one later. Just take my word for it when I say that it was delicious.

Student Teaching Observations

For my Practicum and Curriculum class, I am required to observe a student teacher as well as a...regular???...teacher. Originally I was not excited about this but I have worn more cute clothes during my procrastination week of observations than probably any other week in my entire life. Also, I am way more excited about my BYU badge that gets me into the schools than I probably should be. Now I realize that I will probably get annoyed with this very lanyard about a week into school since it severely harms my ability to wear a necklace. How am I supposed to accessorize? Just kidding, I personally think I looked quite cute today.

In other news, Jefferson and I have been married for 8 months today! Crazy how the time goes by so quickly. In one of my classes yesterday we made goals for ourselves in the next year. This meant that last night this statement may have come out of my mouth: "Jeff! A year from now we will be married for a year and 8 months!" This statement got this response out of him (after laughing): "Yes, and in fifty years we will have been married for fifty years and 8 months." Point taken but it is still exciting to think about.

Finally, why must the girl sitting next to me in class change the due date of an entire assignment because she is so annoying that the teacher finally throws the towel in? There is always one in every class right?

I passed the Praxis!

Have you ever had those times when you walk out of a test thinking you totally aced it and then realized that you must have been completely clueless because you have no idea what went wrong to have that score show up on the screen? I definitely have but luckily not this time!

I PASSED THE PRAXIS!

This test is the national test for Health Educators. Thank goodness I passed and don't have to sit in a room for 2 and a half hours for a test that takes all of 45 minutes...if you purposely read slow and make sure that your bubbles are impeccable...whew...another thing to check off the list. And congrats to my health girls for totally rocking their tests too.

Also, sidenote, I am so glad that the picture on my ID badge is from my old ID card and not the picture from my new one. It's the little things in life right?

Maybe You Did Put Too Much Sugar in my Applesauce

Title taken from a night where Jefferson was putting cinnamon sugar in my applesauce and may have gone a little overboard. Life has been so crazy lately. Here's what has been going on:

Confession: I am a total blog slacker so I am working on it. I love reading (*stalking) other blogs so I guess I should update mine more often for those who read this one.

Life just keeps getting busier and filled with lots of changes and who knows when it will slow down again. We have a new place to live! With our contract being up we decided to move closer to work for Jefferson and live in this cute new split-level/townhouse. It is so quiet without the train tracks both in front of and behind our house anymore. I have taken pictures that I would have uploaded but I am at school and my camera is at home so look for pictures tomorrow (remember how I'm trying to be better at blogging?) so look back for pictures tomorrow. Here is what our neighborhood looks like though...

We were lucky to have Jeff's mom and dad up to help us as well as other family and friends who spent their Saturday helping us move.

I found out I will be student teaching at Springville High School in the fall! Now I just have to figure out how to look like a 22 year old and not like my 16 year old students. I don't know that I will accomplish that when the majority of them are taller...maybe it's for people like me that the student teaching dress code was created. Sorry everyone over 5'5," short people are still ruining your life with taking the tall boys and looking like high school students.

Work has been crazy for Jeff but hopefully it will slow down a little bit here soon. At least he doesn't have to deal with traffic anymore and can sleep in a little longer in the morning. I, however, need to stop hitting the snooze button on days when he doesn't have to work so that he can keep sleeping. I used to be much better at getting out of bed but with only 2 weeks of school left almost all motivation is gone.
