Fun at the Zoo

Over Fall Break we were lucky enough to get to go to the zoo. Jeff's whole family, minus a couple dads who weren't lucky enough to get a fall break, met up at the zoo for a day full of fun! Emery loved seeing all the animals and running around. The pizza that we got treated to afterwards didn't hurt either. She was one happy girl!
Dad is the perfect Zoo buddy since he can lift her up above the crowd to see.

Such a big kid!

Looking at the Gila Monster with Graham.

I think the monkeys may have been her favorite. Good thing there are a lot of them at the zoo.

"Hi Monkey!"

"Ooo ooo OOo" like the monkeys

Emery and Bryce have this game that they play where they say "Hi Hi Hi" to each other. Emery thinks it's hilarious.

Loving the monkeys!

What a fun day at the zoo!

Just a Typical Sunday Night

What else is there to do on a Sunday night than dress up. Let it be known that I did not influence this at all. We were upstairs opening the windows in her room and she saw her bumble bee skirt from last Halloween and her fireman hat. Enjoy!

Chocolate Frosting

Man oh man does this girl love chocolate frosting. She loves anything chocolate, really. We had a conversation that went something like this a few days ago:

E- "More chocolate?"
M- "No"
E- "2 Ms (M&Ms)?"
M- "Not right now"
E- "1 M?"

She cracks me up. I was making chocolate frosting for our cake and Emery was being such a good little helper as usual. I think she has realized that if she helps then she gets some extra tastes of whatever I'm making. Since I had to keep checking to see if I needed more powdered sugar, milk, etc she got a few extra tastes this night. And goodness was she in heaven when I handed her the beater. She and Dad are two peas in a pod when it comes to that aspect of life.

This is my new favorite picture of these two.

These pictures are the epitome of pure joy. Did she stay up a little later from a sugar rush and did I have to soak her dress due to my lack of planning beforehand? Yes. Was it worth it? Totally!

Finishing Out September

September was so full of fun. This year was even more fun with Emery at the age where everything is loud and crazy and funny.

I was completely spoiled for my birthday this year. Jeff took the Friday before my birthday off and we spent the whole day (weekend) together shopping, going out to eat, etc. Then on Monday my parents met me and Emery for lunch. Later that night, Jeff and Emery humored me by driving around to all the places that give out free food on your birthday. What troopers!

Emery LOVES stickers! She always sees my piano stickers and begs to play with them, especially after I've taught lessons that day. I figure it's a cheap, mess-free way to keep her having fun. Jeff often finds little love reminders from Emery with her stickers stuck to the bottom of his shoes at work.

Emery is really into her babies and brown bear. She had them lined up in the kitchen while I was cooking dinner and was sitting by them playing. She has also started being such a little Mama, saying "I gotcha" while she's holding baby. I tell her that when she thinks she's falling and she's passing it along.

She loves wearing Dad's shirt. She thinks it's the greatest thing in the world and it makes her so happy!

She also loves, loves, loves helping Dad out in the yard. She was helping him make sure that the gophers were gone, hence the hole digging. Good news, we are fairly certain that all gophers have vacated the premises.

Crazy Hair

Emery has a lot of long, curly hair. We LOVE it. All of that long, curly hair tends to get crazy, especially when slept on wet or after being put in pigtails. She had her hair in pigtails for church last Sunday and when we took them out before bed, this is what we got. Definitely crazy hair worthy!
